Serve as the Communications & Business Development Coordinator. Provide administrative support for the Director of Communications and Business Development for the department of Ophthalmology at UCSD Shiley Eye Institute. Independently coordinate all aspects of special events for patients, donors, staff and faculty (during and after normal business hours as needed). Assist with outreach, guest/customer service, development and community relation activities by handling confidential information with discretion, providing patient assistance as needed, and exercising sound judgment.
Development office duties include but not limited to: maintaining office systems, coordinate marketing and fund raising mailings, and perform fiscal activities including processing and reporting of gifts - all with attention to detail. Coordinate development assignments such as: donor, prospect, patient and community cultivation, recognition, and stewardship activities; organize marketing direct mailings, annual giving and patient brochures; edit bi-annual magazine, press releases, and website content. Keep budgets for events noting income/expenditures. Applicant must be able to work with all Microsoft office suite applications.
