Dr. Igor Kozak, MD, PhD, M.S., is a dynamic Clinical Research Ophthalmologist who specializes in introducing the newest technologies into clinical practice. He has completed both vitreoretinal and uveitis fellowships under the mentorship of Dr. William R. Freeman, Director of the Jacobs Retina Center at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Kozak also holds a master’s degree in clinical research from UCSD.

As Co-Director of Clinical Trials at the UCSD Jacobs Retina Center, Dr. Kozak is involved in multiple clinical trials investigating new treatments of retinal diseases. His clinical interests include age-related macular degeneration, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy, uveitis, and HIV retinopathy. In his research, Dr. Kozak focuses on retinal diagnostic imaging and image analysis, retinal pharmacology and drug delivery systems.
