Shiley
Eye Center Holds the First Annual Blind Baby Fund Family
Charity Picnic
On June
13, 2004, patients and friends of the Shiley Eye Center came
together to support the Blind Baby Fund, a foundation that
provides children an opportunity for sight. Under the shade
at Big Rock Ranch, Topanga Canyon, Los Angeles, the children
enjoyed a day of hula hoops, pony rides, face-painting, potato
sack races, and more! The celebration also featured a family-style
barbecue, a spectacular silent auction, and a raffle. The
entire event was made possible by generous gifts from individuals
and corporations. The picnic raised over $50,000.00 for the
Blind Baby Fund!

even a Shiley Eye Center alum, presented the research they
have been working on over the past year.
Creig S. Hoyt, M.D., Chairman,
Department of Ophthalmology at the University of California,
San Francisco, presented his research, The Marvelous Visual
Cortex of Children, in the First Annual Stuart I. Brown
Lecture.
Victoria L. Morrison, M.D., was awarded the David and Nancy
